Welcome to Realm-2: Chapter One Part 4

Mercy has a cat named Hunter. She works shifts as a nurse that start and finish at quite different times. She also works at different hospitals, which means that her travel times can vary widely. One day her son, Soul, noticed that Hunter would sit by the door and stay there until Mercy returned. It didn't matter where Mercy was working, or what time in the day she began a shift, somehow Hunter tuned in to the time Mercy left her work and began her journey home.

Many pet owners have had the same experience. It turns out that about 50% of dog owners and 30% of cat owners see this in their pets' behaviour.

The biologist Rupert Sheldrake, although initially sceptical, decided to investigate this phenomenon. In one experiment he set up a video camera to record the behaviour of Jaytee, a terrier owned by Pam. Then he sent Pam to various random locations from where she had to return home by taxi. The taxi was to rule out that Jaytee was alerted by the familiar sound of Pam's car. It didn't matter where he sent Pam or what time she began to return, the video showed that when Pam was not on the way home, Jaytee spent only four per cent of the time at the window, but when Pam was coming home, he spent 55 percent of the time sitting in the window waiting. The difference was very significant statistically.

Other studies and experiments showed that pets consistently anticipated when their owner was coming home. They seemed to know the moment the owner thought about coming home.

Sheldrake's experiments were published in the Journal for Scientific Exploration, an academically respectable journal. They were also duplicated by other researchers. Their information was also published. We might be forgiven for thinking that these experiments would establish at least one Realm-2 experience in the realm of science. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

To be continued …
