Tarot Thoughts

Over the next few weeks, months … or years, I have decided to share some thoughts on the Tarot. 

I realised recently that I became a professional Tarot reader more than half a century ago, and even though I ceased readings for people quite a while ago, it gifted a special perspective. 

There are lots of reasons people pick up a Tarot pack and start working with these enigmatic cards. Sometimes they are part of a particular esoteric or occult system. Sometimes people find that working with the cards gives them helpful insights into themselves and their own life. Some people use them as a guide to making decisions about love, relationship, money, career and so on. Doing paid readings for others though is a different perspective.

As my friend Martin Russell could tell you, when you sit in front of a client, you have no knowledge of their background, personality or life. The Tarot becomes the only bridge that links you with this person. In order to cross this bridge you have to develop a special relationship with the Tarot - and I’ll address this in some of the posts to come.
