We concluded a recent post by asking how it was that a simple game of cards evolved into an archetype of esoteric symbolism and became an indispensable item in the kit of fortune-tellers, occultists, diviners and even the occasional psychologist.
For me, the answer has to come from beyond the realm of simple history and art design. Such subjects are all Realm-1 - the realm of the physical world and material understanding. I often meet people who live entirely in this realm. “There is absolutely nothing after death!” proclaimed one lovely young man. “There is only one problem with that,” I pointed out, “What is that?” “There is absolutely no proof” I retorted, upon which everyone broke out into laughter.
Realm-2 is not a matter of hypothesis - it is a matter of experience.
Our first website was called “Centre Music Australia”. It focused on music and the spiritual significance of music. We soon became aware though, that people needed much more focused information. Information focused on Realm-2.
It’s actually quite difficult to talk about Realm-2. Many, many people have shared Realm-2 experiences with me - you will find some of them in the “Welcome to Realm-2” blogs - but if you try to talk to someone who lives entirely in Realm-1 about your Realm-2 experience - you will find usually, that their eyes glaze over, they stop listening to you - and they may even become quite angry!
In the last hundred years, Realm-2 has gently pushed its way into Realm-1 in different ways. One of these is the Near Death Experience. If you had one of these, you will know that Realm-2 is real. Then there are spiritualist communications, scientific studies of PSI and remote viewing, and reincarnation research to name but a few. Objective researchers have pointed out that in any other field of human knowledge, the evidence that has built up would be considered overwhelming. However - don’t try to use the word ‘clairvoyance’ or ‘psychic’ or ‘spiritual worlds’ in a Wikipedia article. You will be shut down because the authorities of our information culture have very strong belief systems.
Some might consider this a tragedy. After all, just to take one simple example, if reincarnation was accepted as a fact, it would be very difficult to be racist. I can’t discriminate against someone because of their race or colour, because I might very well be reborn as that race or colour. We have a politician in Australia who proclaims loudly and often, “There is no good Muslim!” I have no doubt at all what religion she will profess in her next incarnation ☺️
I don’t think though, that Realm-2 has any interest in convincing Realm-1. Realm-2 knows well enough, that eventually every soul will make its way through the gates of death - and they will learn about Realm-2 soon enough. No, I think that Realm-2 is nudging us, reminding us that this physical world of bodies, and emotions and desires is not the reality. So Realm-2 finds ways to have a conversation with us. We may be sent a serious illness or accident and experience the spiritual realms for ourselves. We may meet an emissary who has a powerful, life-changing effect on us. We may … encounter the Tarot ☺️
