From time to time you will notice that I have included a familiar Tarot card, but the perspective has completely changed. There is actually a Tarot deck, Tarot of the New Vision which rotates the view 180 degrees, so that you are seeing the image on the traditional card from behind. There is a visualisation exercise taught in certain spiritual schools where you take a familiar object - Mario suggested a matchbox - and practice seeing it in your mind from the front. Then you do the same practice, visualising the back. Then the sides, until you can see the object from any perspective you choose. Finally ⌠you have to see it from every perspective at the same time. If this sounds difficult, even impossible, all I can say is that, yes, it is difficult - but not actually impossible âşď¸
When I went to an early course on the Tarot which Mario gave, he suggested something similar with the Tarot cards. We should practice visualising them so that we could recreate the image completely with our inner vision. The first time I had any success with this, I was working with the Magician card (I thought I should start with number 1) and was amazed to find myself looking at a beach shore from out at sea, and observing buildings in the background with round, dome-like roofs. I happened to mention this to Mario and he brightened up. âThat was Atlantisâ he said. âThey built the roofs of the temples like domes, and the buildings were circular.â
As I have begun to re-visualise the traditional Waite-Smith (aka Rider-Waite) pack - the re-imagined cards seem to preface the next set of âTarot Thoughtsâ. So here is the High Priestess âre-imaginedâ again.
The High Priestess guards the entry to the Mysteries. That is, she guards the entry to Realm-2 - the spiritual worlds. Many, many souls bring their offering to the guardian. Some are rulers who bear costly treasures of gold and silver. Others are representatives of religions who feel their status entitles them to entry. There are those who bring beauty, or talent, or knowledge. Then there is a small boy, whose gift is a wild flower he picked on the journey. All have to present themselves to the guardian. Perhaps you and I are somewhere in that procession, on that journeyâŚ
