I didn’t know Graeme well personally, but the stories of the ‘miracle man’ who literally rose from his deathbed following ordination meant that he was well known amongst the priesthood.
Then there were the quietly humorous posts which I enjoyed reading on FP, which came from the ‘music man’ Max Tinkle.
It took me quite some time before I understood that Graeme and Max Tinkle were one in the same person.
When I finally met him at a retreat in Port Arlington, the two easily became one. An incredibly talented man, with a quiet sense of humour and a very obviously deep love for Christ. It was easy to chat about the little things when our paths crossed.
It seems that his love for Christ and for music sustained him for much longer than anyone may have predicted, and he went consciously, as a free priest does, on his own terms.

It was lovely to see your faces online. My internet was struggling and dropped out completely, so what I want to share about Graeme was:
He was always so warm and welcoming with me back in Centre days, great fun when I got to play music with him at times.
He generously offered to provide the music on keyboard at my ordination in 2012 at JR and Melody’s home in Portarlington, which was wonderful.
And Tia got to meet him at Frankston when we ran into him playing sax with a wandering band in the shopping centre at Christmas time, stopped to chat for a while.
Yes, a beautiful soul that man. Love you Graeme.

Thank you so much for the recording of Graeme’s farewell. I wasn’t able to attend the original unfortunately. I remember his music from the Centre. He was a beautiful soul and gave so much to the world. I send his soul my love and appreciation – he was a generous, giving soul who contributed so much to beauty and joy in the world.
