I mentioned earlier that there is a Realm-2 reason for the behaviour of those "committed materialists". It is worth noting that Realm-2 is not opposed to thinking and reasoning. In fact Realm-2 promotes greater thinking ability.
The Realm-2 view would say that someone who is so committed to not looking at evidence and proof has also committed to not develop Realm-2 senses. Such a person cannot hear beyond their own inner voices; they cannot see beyond the blinkers of their own prejudices. They cannot communicate with other souls.
We, however, are committed to enlarging consciousness beyond Realm-1 and engaging with a greater reality.
From ancient times thinkers accepted that the soul had its own organs of perception, Realm-2 senses. They also came up with an answer to where these new senses developed. Obviously spiritual hearing doesn't develop in the physical body, so where does it come into being? The answer is simple: Realm-2 senses come into being in a Realm-2 body. Spiritual perception requires a spiritual body. We shall investigate the idea of a Realm-2 body in Chapter Two.
