The Path to Pentecost Day 41

The Fall of Babylon, Luther Bible 1530

18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. 2 And he called out with a mighty voice,

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
She has become a dwelling place for demons,
a haunt for every unclean spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.

3 For all nations have drunk
the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality,
and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

Rev 18:1-3

We have entered the decade of light. This is heralded by a new light entering into consciousness. This new light, the angel, brings a wonderful message: the old soul template, corrupted into believing that it belonged to the earth, has fallen.

Evolution never stands still. We can go on, or we can go back. Christ brings choice. We have the power to exercise choice when we enter into incarnation. Between incarnations we have no choice. Our experience between lives is created by the actions we took when we lived on earth. This means that the choices we make are very powerful. Each choice will either move us forward, or send us back.

The old consciousness which the Book of Revelation calls the city of Babylon has fallen. It has no life within it. It has imitations of life. Revelation calls these imitations demons, which are destructive spiritual energies; unclean spirits, which are selfish motives; unclean birds, self-centred thoughts and unclean beasts, destructive emotional drives. The new consciousness has none of these.

The new consciousness is built out of light. Light attracts light. As we purify our thoughts and emotions, our vision becomes clearer. We can, as St John puts it in his first letter, tell the difference between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Light dwells within the human heart. As we embrace the Christ consciousness, the light within the heart is no longer obscured. It can shine forth with great power. More and more we become loving beings. The illuminated human soul attracts beings of light. We are now able to communicate with the higher spiritual worlds through our thinking and intuition.

There is still a long journey before we enter completely into Christ consciousness, but our journey is always into the light.

“The Fall of Babylon” is yet another scene from the book of Revelation which many artists have depicted. In this scene from the Luther Bible, we see the angel with great authority coming down from heaven.

This angel with a “mighty voice”, is the angel, the spiritual energy which sits in our astral. It creates pictures within consciousness. If we become aware of these pictures, then we see the nature of the spiritual forces which dwell within us. When we enter into the spirit of Christ we begin to leave behind these old forces. The old word for this is “repent”, but the Greek word really means to “turn around”.

Today, let us look back and see at what point in our life we “turned around.” Where did we turn our back upon the old and dare to move forward into the new. Even more - are there still memories and old behaviours that are holding us back? Today let us listen to the voice of the angel which talks to us in glory, with a mighty voice and shows us who we were, and who we may become.

I think I have talked to you about the Angel that sits in your astral.  This very Angel is continually causing pictures in your mind.  The more you can see these pictures, the more you will understand the language of the Angels.
